As Halloween draws near, beware of your social calendar. There is so much to see and do during this spooky time of year. Here are just some of the festively gay things to do.

 

 

#1. Thursday, October 22, 12016

Come support Eros S Guillen as he begins his journey to compete for the National title of Mr. Gay USofA. This star-studded show will be hosted by the incredible Persana Shoulders at Oz (800 Bourbon Street) starting at 9 p.m. Some of our incredible talent will perform representing a very diverse family of Drag queens, Drag kings, male entertainers and burlesque performers. Performers include Dominique DeLorean, Coca J Mesa, Poseidon Davenport, O’mariyan Sincere Black, Damian Pierre Bonds, Remy Dee, Matthew Adam, Tiffany Alexander, Monica Synclaire-Kennedy, Athena Jewelle, Ryan Sessum and Pussi Hertz.

 

 

 

#2. Friday, October 23, 2016

Get your animal House on at the Sister Krewe Toga Party hosted by the gay carnival Krewes of Petronius and Armeinius at the Armenius Den (433 North Broad Street) from 7 – 10 p.m. The $20 admission includes an all-you-can-eat buffet and open bar. There will be door prizes and a toga contest.

 

 

#3. Friday, October 23 – Sunday, October 25, 2016

Join the Friends of the Cabildo for the 5th Annual Ghostly Gallivant Gala at the Cabildo on Friday, Oct. 23rd at the Cabildo (701 Charters Street) starting at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a spooktacular costume party, dance to live Motown classics by Bobby Moore and the Rhythm Aces, and treat yourself to delicious food and libations from notable French Quarter restaurants such as Antoine’s, Tableau, Gumbo Shop and others. Individual Tickets are $45 for Friends of the Cabildo Members and $55 General Admission. Tickets include all food, beer and wine.

And don’t miss our haunting and hilarious French Quarter Walking Tours led by Friends of the Cabildo guides on Saturday, Oct. 24th and Sunday, Oct. 25th. Starting from the 1850 House Museum Store on Jackson Square, you’ll bump into famous ghosts such as Jean Laffite and the Baroness Michaela Pontalba as you peek around the corners of haunted historic buildings and creepy courtyards. Tours run every half-hour from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. both days.

#4. Saturday, October 24, 2015

A night of music, mascara, and mayhem await you at Divas Doin’ It For Themselves: a fundraiser for the New Orleans Gay Men’s Chorus. The event will be held at mags 940 (940 Elysian Fields) from 8 – 11 p.m. The men of NOGMC get in touch with their feminine sides for a night of incomparable entertainment. Local celebretants Elizabeth Bouvier and Guadaloupe will be your emcees for the evening. Tickets are $10 at the door.

 

 

#5. Saturday, October 24, 2015

New Orleans drag queens become zombiefied at the Litter Box review’s Zombie Drag Party at the Tulane Avenue Bar (3813 Tulane Avenue) starting at 9 p.m. Start your Halloween off right, with a night of spooky drag performances by some of your favorite gory entertainers including Kitty D’Litter, Kayla Starr, Deanna and Sunshine McLean. There is a $5 cover.

One of my favorite scary movies is coming to the Voodoo Lounge for the special 30th anniversary screening. This Halloween season we will be bringing a little extra fear into your life with Demons! Join The Voodoo Lounge (718 North Rampart) for a night of fun and frightening films with special guest host Geretta Geretta (Rosemary from “Demons”) introducing the double feature of “Demons” and “Rats: Night of Terror”. This is a FREE event but you will have a chance to purchase autographed photos and bobble head dolls from Geretta Geretta before the show. Don’t miss out on this awesome night of fun filled screams! The timing is as follows: Signing and Q&A: 10 p.m.; “Demons” Screening: 11 p.m.; “Rats: Night of Terror” Screening: 12:30 a.m. There will be some snacks available and if you’d like to bring an extra seat feel free as we may fill up fast.
