Using two retrospectives at in Los Angeles that opened in 2016 at the Getty and LACMA museums as a backdrop, this definitive portrait profiles the artist from early childhood to his beginnings in New York, and his meteoric rise in the art world to his untimely death in 1989. Decadent Duck is Using Her ‘Powers for Good’ for Decadence.  While most people come down to NOLA to party for Southern Decadence, NYC drag singer/songwriter Candy Samples brings her Sunday Services to The Big Easy for a grand fundraiser for NO/AIDS Task Force’s Food For Friends. Mistress of the microphone Candy Samples will be back at One Eyed Jacks (615 Toulouse Street) for her 90-minute show and encouraging her audiences to use their ‘Powers for Good’.

This year marks Candy’s 9th year performing her Sunday Services for Decadence audiences. What once started out as a small Sunday morning gathering has grown to one of Decadence’s most revered events. No stranger to fundraising and HIV advocacy, Candy, in her home city of New York, raises money each year for AIDS Walk New York/GMHC and The Braking AIDS Ride/Housing Works along with her work for NO/AIDS Task Force.

Sunday Services, produced by Decadent Duck Events is open to the public with no cover. Candy will be passing around the collection plate for Food for Friends. Last year’s Sunday Services raised over $12,000. Over the past 9 years Sunday Services has helped raise over $75,000 for NO/AIDS Task Force’s Food For Friends.

The audience at CLUB COLETTE (the notorious Swingers club opened to us for one night only) will be required to don only towels (provided by the DWORLD NOLA staff) to recreate the vibe of the famed bathhouse. JOHNNY DYNELL will be playing “Bathhouse Disco” from the era. He has been DJing at gay clubs since the 1980s and is no stranger to this music. He has been a part-time resident of NOLA for several years and is eager to return for this special night. Expect the unexpected, too, at “B,B and B” as surprise musical guests will also drop by.

Please Note: Upstairs at Colette will be men-only for this night, downstairs is mixed for the shows and dancing. The club is clothing optional and though it does not serve alcohol, guests are allowed to bring their own. The bartenders will serve it throughout the night.
