It’s an old-fashioned dance party – literally! Come celebrate the dance, music, and fashion of the 1920’s and 30’s at Charleston Fest. Some of the proceeds help fundraise for Friday Night Before Mardi Gras, a non-profit that supports the LGBTQ community in New Orleans. This year’s event is going to be at the wonderful Spitfire Bar ($1135 Decatur Street). There will be bands, raffles, specially priced cocktails and dance and costume contests with very corrupt judges (all bribes go to FNBMG). There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door. For more information, visit Charlestonfestnola.com.

If you enjoyed the Carnival season as much as I did, then I suggest you become a part of this historic gay community celebration. Check out the rush party for one of the best Gay Krewe’s in this city! The Krewe of Armeinius is looking for new members this year and if you’re interested in joining, then bring yourself to the 700 Club (700 Burgundy) from 1 – 3 p.m. Listen to our members tell their stories of fun, laughter and good times. They will also be showing the video from their Bal Masque 2015.
