Happy holidays and a very Merry Christmas to everyone, I hope your season is as full of festivities as mine has been. Usually Christmas week is slow, but not so in NOLA. Here are just a few of the festively gay things to do this week.

#1. Monday, December 21, 2015

Come be a part of A Greater Love Christmas Party at Publiq House (4528 Freret St.) from 6 – 9 p.m. This year they are closing down the Christmas season with a party that will surely get you in the Christmas spirit. The reason being is that we are providing gifts for two chosen families for Christmas and we would like for you to be a part. All you have to do is show up and donate $10 at the door. All details are provided below and all donations will go to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and the wonderful families that will be receiving these gifts.

All guests will receive Complimentary drinks., Live Music, A chance to win an original painting by Ernest Roberts and other prizes, A picture with Santa and the Saints game shown on multiple TVs plus the best DJ in New Orleans.

#2. Wednesday, December 23, 2015

One of my favorite Louisiana singers will be in NOLA performing this week. Marc Broussard returns to Southport Hall (200 Monticello Avenue) playing tunes from his New Christmas Album, “MAGNOLIAS AND MISTLETOE” plus his classic tunes with special guests. #3. Thursday, December 24, 2015

“Until you’re ready to look foolish, you’ll never have the possibility of being great.” – Cher. No truer words have ever been spoken by one of my idols.   Join the folks The Voodoo Lounge (718 North Rampart St.) on Christmas Eve for the 1st Annual Cher look-a-like contest. We want your Dark Lady, your Believe, some Half Breed, a little Just like Jesse James, you name it. Contest kicks off promptly at 10 p.m. with a performance by New Orleans best Cher impersonator Miss Destiny Waters. Contestants must bring their best looks and be prepared to lip- sync 1 min of the Cher song of their preference. There is a $200 cash prize as well as Bar Tabs and Booby prizes!

Join the folks at Tulane Avenue Bar (3813 Tulane Ave) at 9:00 p.m. for ILLUSIONS ON THE AVENUE featuring Athena Jewelle, Blazen Haven, Lady Juliet, and Colin Backster.

#5. December 27, 2015

Check out the saints (hopefully beating) the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Country Club (634 Louisa Street). Watch the game with your friends and neighbors on our 6 big screen HDTVs inside around the bar, out at the poolside cabana bar or while lounging in their heated saltwater pool FREE SAINTS TOUCHDOWN SHOTS FOR ALL! The game starts at noon, or join them for $15 Bottomless Mimosas with the purchase of a brunch entree from 10am-3pm.
