The W New Orleans – French Quarter in partnership with Tidbits New Orleans and The Elizabeth Chronicles present a free “Dive-In” movie from 6 – 10 p.m. The free (yes free) “Dive-In” movie night is a summer spin-off of old drive-in movies, but in a very sexy New Orleans courtyard space. Guests and locals are invited to swim in the pool while watching a throwback movie in the courtyard as a nod to Throwback Thursday, #tbt. Starting at 6:30pm, guests can browse and shop poolside fashions from The Elizabeth Chronicles and fitness gear from Robin Barnes’ label, Fit By You, while sipping on cocktails and enjoying throwback tunes from the 80s and 90s. The movie will start at sundown. Movie-style small bites and cocktails will be available for purchase as well as complimentary popcorn during the movie. Guests will have the opportunity to win summer-themed giveaways before and after the movie including a 2-night stay to W New Orleans French Quarter.   The movie is complimentary. Space is limited so guests are encouraged to RSVP to wnolarsvp@whotels.com. Parking is available at W French Quarter for $5 for three hours as space permits. #4. Saturday, June 6, 2015

Come to the premier of 7 brand spanking new plays at the Fourth Annual 24 Hour Theatre Fest starting at 8:00 p.m. inside Café Istanbul (2240 St. Claude Avenue). The price for admission is $7. Witness the result of 24 whirlwind hours of theater-making as our intrepid participants present 7 brand new short plays, all created in one day. The concept of 24 is the opportunity, (or the challenge?!), for playwrights, directors, and actors to come together and create theater in just 24 hours. On Friday, June 5th, participants gather at 8 p.m. to choose a theme and then the playwrights are sent off to write scripts through the night. Directors are randomly assigned to plays in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday, June 6th, and actors are randomly selected by directors soon after (all casting is gender-blind and color-blind). The improbable cast will then have a few measly hours to turn their script into performance, to be performed that very night. To participate or for more information, go to www.skinhorsetheater.org or email twentyfournola@gmail.com.
