SweetArts 2014 was a huge success this year as the Contemporary Arts Center unveiled their 30 Americans show to guests on Friday, February 7, 2014.

The progressive party started on the first floor with an oyster bar, champagne and hors d’oeuvres.  Then at 9 p.m. they had the official ribbon cutting ceremony as they allowed guests upstairs to view the exhibit.

The exhibition was an incredible collection of African American artists in all mediums.  The pieces ranged from inspirational and moving to fun and celebratory.  As people perused the art, they enjoyed cuisine from more than a dozen New Orleans’ top chefs and signature cocktails from some great boutique bars.

The evening concluded on the third floor with desserts and dancing.  The CAC gave all who attended a very “sweet” party just in time for Valentine’s Day.  The 30 American exhibition will be on display at the Contemporary Arts Center through June 15, 2014.  For more information, go to www.cacno.org.
