The event took place at the Ambush Magazine headquarter offices located on Bourbon Street in the heart of the gay district.  Ambush Magazine is the Gulf South’s leading LGBT publication and one of the oldest in the country.  They began this practice of naming a drag performer (although two real women have been given this honor) this impressive title 21 years ago.  Barbara Ella, aka Chris Arthur, now joins this noteworthy “sisterhood.”

Barbara Ella, in keeping with outrageous themes, is entitled The Borghese Queen.  She will preside over the Bead Toss that takes place Mardi Gras afternoon from the balcony of the Ambush offices and kicks off the Gay Mardi Gras celebration that day.

The night was filled as a standing rooappointed home.  Congratulations to Barbara Ella on her reign and look forward to seeing her on the balcony on Mardi Gras Day.  For more information on the King Cake Queen events and Gay Mardi Gras, go to www.ambushmag.com.
